Nicole Yu is a software engineer who builds with empathy and codes with curiosity. Growing up as a migrant shaped how she sees systems, people, and the invisible structures that create opportunity. She brings that worldview into her work - solving mundane problems with playful, creative prototypes in her free time, while navigating structured, mission-critical code in the finance industry.
When she’s not hacking on experimental projects, she’s exploring the world through sport: dragonboat, squash and (soon) a duathlon. She’s always building something - in code or in life.
I'm interested in AI/ML, healthcare tech, and products that create real social impact. Beyond the prototyping experience, I want to go deeper technically to build systems that genuinely help people. I'd love to connect with collaborators working on meaningful, human-centred projects or anyone passionate about using tech to leave a positive mark.
I'm tinkering with a few experimental projects: a personal finance tool that makes saving more social and fun and a memory-tracking app focused on emotional storytelling daily reflection.
All are early, exploratory and helping me learn new tech and design patterns. Lots of excitement in bringing this into the world!
